Transfer News Around the World

Bayern Munich and Juventus have agreed to pay €80 million for Matthijs de Ligt.

Bayern Munich and Juventus have agreed to terms on the transfer of Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt. De Ligt joined the Italian giants in 2019 after staring in Ajax's Champions League semi-final run, and while he initially started behind Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci, he quickly established himself in the starting XI and impressed.

We understand the two parties have reached an agreement, with Bayern potentially paying €80 million to sign the 22-year-old—€70 million guaranteed and €10 million in add-ons. De Ligt has already agreed to a five-year contract, so all that is needed now is medical and official approval. De Ligt will depart for Juventus after three seasons.

Paulo Dybala has agreed to join Roma.

According to reports, Paulo Dybala's move to Roma has been completed, with the former Juventus forward signing a three-year contract. After leaving Juventus as a free agent at the end of last month, the Italian capital-based club were in a three-way battle for his services with Napoli and Inter Milan. However, Sky Sport Italia claims that Roma have won the race and that the Argentine international will sign a contract worth £5 million (€6 million) per year plus bonuses until 2025 with the Stadio Olimpico. That conversation appears to have been crucial for Dybala, as Mourinho explained Roma's project to him, with the only thing missing now being the final signature.

Chelsea is currently leading the KOUNDE race.

According to Spanish media, despite Xavi's efforts to persuade the French international to change his mind and join him at the Camp Nou, the Blues remain ahead of Barcelona in the race to sign Kounde.

The Catalan club has already signed Franck Kessie, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski this summer, with Kounde the next big target of their spending spree. This, however, contradicts their interest in Alonso and Azpilicueta, who will both demand first-team football if they leave the Blues. Jules Koundé appeared to be on his way to becoming a Chelsea player last summer, and while that fell through and the track had cooled in recent weeks, we've begun chopping away the overgrowth and clearing a path for him once more. According to multiple Spanish media outlets, including ABC de Sevilla and Diario AS, we have made our "first formal offer" of the summer, valued at €55 million plus add-ons.

According to Spanish media, despite Xavi's efforts to persuade the French international to change his mind and join him at the Camp Nou, the Blues remain ahead of Barcelona in the race to sign Kounde.

Chelsea have made a £40 million bid for Presnel Kimpembe, the PSG defender.

Chelsea have made a £40 million bid for Presnel Kimpembe of PSG and are in talks with Sevilla about Jules Kounde, who is also wanted by Barcelona. Thomas Tuchel is looking to bolster his defence this summer, and after signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, he has turned to the French centre-back. PSG is said to be willing to sell Kimpembe for around £42 million. The Ligue 1 champions are also in talks with Juventus about signing the 26-year-old French international. He had previously worked with Thomas Tuchel as manager of the Parc des Princes for two and a half years.

THE JOAN GAMPER TROPHY PITS FC BARCELONA AGAINST PUMAS UNAM.

The Joan Gamper Trophy, also known as the Joan Gamper Cup, was established in 1966, with the Blaugrana inviting Anderlecht from Belgium, Nantes from France, and Koln from Germany to the inaugural event. It had four participants until 1997 Barcelona and three other invitees and consisted of two semi-final ties, a third-place playoff, and a final. The Blaugrana won their first championship, defeating Cologne 3-1 in the final. Due to an increased fixture list, the Joan Gamper Trophy underwent changes in 1997, abandoning the previous format in favour of a one-off match style. Furthermore, there is no extra time in the competition, with a penalty shoot-out deciding the winner if the game is tied after 90 minutes. This tournament has drawn teams from all over the world, including fellow Spanish powerhouses Atletico Madrid and Valencia, as well as South American behemoths Boca Juniors, River Plate, and Santos. In 2017, Barcelona invited Chapecoense to the 52nd Joan Gamper Trophy...

WHY IS GHANA GOING TO THE IMF

Ghana's president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has authorised Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to begin formal discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to help the country's economy. According to a statement issued by the country's information ministry, the order follows a phone conversation between President Akufo-Addo and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, according to Graphic.com. "The cabinet indicated its support for the decision at a meeting on June 30th, 2022," the statement said on Friday, July 1. "The engagement with the IMF will seek to provide balance of payment support as part of a broader effort to accelerate Ghana's recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and, more recently, the Russia-Ukraine crisis." According to people familiar with the plan, Ghana has postponed this week's mid-term budget review until initial meetings with the International Monetary Fund for an economic programme are completed. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT APPLE'S NEW IPHONE 14 AND 14 PRO

iPhone 14 is only a few weeks away, but leaks have already revealed much of what to expect. According to early reports, the new handset will include significant new features, improvements, and the removal of some well-known design elements. The phone, along with a slew of other products, will be released by Apple in September. But here's everything we know about the iPhone 14, including a possible date for the big Apple event. According to numerous reports, Apple has finally removed the notch that is cut out of the top of the display in the new devices. Instead, all of the components that are hidden there, such as the facial recognition sensor and front-facing camera, could be placed in a small cutout at the top of the screen, allowing the display to extend all the way up. That redesign could be limited to Pro models only. Rumours suggest that regular iPhones will have the same notch as the iPhone 13. Otherwise, the design is expected to stay largely the same. There may be some tw...
